Imagine this:
Leaving home for an extended vacation, taking care to close all appliances and electronics off. You set your thermostat to an economic reading and ensure that mail is waiting. YouÂ've almost everything covered, right?
Wrong.
Now, Imagine this:
You get home from their long journey to find his house has been struck by lightning. Minimal damage has happened to the structure, but go and find that many of their electronics, including a 3-year-old television and a computer $ 1500 have been totally destroyed by lightning seemingly minor success!

Could this really happen?
Of course!
This is a real account of one of our customers who have made their home in Florida for a month to visit children and grandchildren. When they returned, they were all damage to your electronic equipment throughout the house. Fortunately, they had good insurance and the items were replaced.
But getting a new computer does not It's like getting a new TV, where you take the TV out of the box and plug it into the wall and back on. It takes time to configure a new computer and reconfigure the software and have the backup and restore data to the new computer. I made a good amount of money that day, but learned a great lesson I will convey to you.
First, if you have important data on your computer, back up. If Dona't know how, search a good technician, or at least one friend who knows how to help. Backing up data simply means that you make a copy of the information we work with on a regular basis on your computer, whether it is pictures or financial information or a book she is writing a … what is important to you, you must have a copy that is outside of the computer.
This client learned the hard way how important it is to create these disks data backup, and was very grateful that she did! Programs that run on your machine can be replaced, but the data you create with the program can not be replaced, unless you have a copy of it!
Secondly, to leave the house for a long time and there is a possibility that a storm will come near your building, you must turn off the computer and any electronic device … if you survive the storm.
And, it absolutely safe, even if their devices are connected to a surge protector and off … Disconnecting the cap from the wall outlet.
That act will save you tons little pain very expensive! During the storm season in the spring and summer, I turn off and unplug all computers that are running in the office, and any other important electronic item I want Dona't damaged.
