One can see the difference in the sources and the images it displays. If I were to compare the 2 screens, fonts appear smoother on the Kindle than on the Sony Reader. It also has the choice of 6 font sizes compared to the Sony Reader, which only has 4.

In terms of sound and speakers, the Sony Reader has a music player and JPEG viewer that does not have Amazon Kindle 2. However, the Kindle has speakers that the Sony Reader does not, well, the Amazon Kindle 2 has the text to speech feature that allows the device to read the book for you.

In the discharge of ebooks, special needs eBook Library software for you to get books from the Sony store. This is very inconvenient for those who do not have PCs because the software works only with Windows. Using the eBook Library for the reader, you may acquire some contents of the books through it. You can even read the books that are stored in your reader with your computer, a feature that only reader has.

Another major difference is the wireless capability. The Kindle 2 does not have Wi-Fi, however, uses Sprint's EVDO wireless data network to download eBooks.
