How many times have you wanted to store sensitive information on your computer, but they did because they were concerned that someone might discover? Checking and credit card numbers, social security numbers, passwords, etc. These are all good candidates for storage of equipment. But if the equipment was lost or stolen, you know where this information could end?
That is why we have encryption. Unfortunately, it often seems encrypted data that is encrypted. It will consist of strange characters who do it at all. Steganography not only encrypts data, hides, while steganography has been around a few years, but few people who are not spies have been aware of it.
There's an old adage, "the best place to hide something is sight. "Steganography is the rule. It allows you to encrypt the information in the common digital photo every day. You can even send this picture to someone via Internet where you can decode and read your message. It all kind of James Bondish, but it works great. Who would suspect that the combination of your safe or numbers of a secret Swiss bank account hidden in the image of your favorite dog?
Here's how. Images on your computer are composed of pixels. Pixels are defined by their color. His team is capable of displaying 32 million colors. Of course, the human eye can not tell anywhere near this many colors. This means we can use some of the information used to define the color of a pixel, to hide large amounts of data.
To activate a pure pixel "blue", the computer assigns a color code 0000 0000 1111. The first four digits is, not red, the next four, not green, and the four finalists, all blue. We might change one of these digits, for example, in the first set of four in 0001 and the effect on the image would not be detectable. Since there are hundreds of thousands (or millions) of pixels in most images, and can store multiple bits of information undetectable in each of them huge amounts of data can be hidden. A photo of 8 x 10 inches can easily hide the full text of the King James Bible.

Any picture on your work computer, but I would use one that is small to begin with. I took a picture (of my dog, what else?) And sheared with Paintshop Pro until it was 50k in size. Then I saved as a bitmap. The majority (visualization software will allow you to do this using the "save as".) Then brought up the steganography program, loaded with the image, and writing in my secret message. There is a menu included in the software that allows you to encrypt, decrypt, load, save, etc.
He saved my new picture encrypted message on it and then against the original image. There is no possibility that anyone notices any difference. And the file size is the same too. Then I emailed a friend along with the password and was able to decode decrypt and read my message. Steganography is not perfect, but it's a great way to protect sensitive information by encrypting and then hide it in place plain … like the experts say you do.
